Asunto Oy Verkkosaaren Artus is a residential housing company located at Vanha talvitie 31 in the fast-developing Kalasatama district of eastern central Helsinki. The organisation operates 46 residential units, each ranging from 39 to 80.5 square metres and designed around a raw, unfinished loft concept with four-metre ceiling heights. These spaces are delivered as "shell-finished" apartments: bathrooms are completed, but owners are responsible for finishing other surfaces, room divisions, and materials according to their own preferences. This model allows significant flexibility and personalization.
Construction of Verkkosaaren Artus was planned in two phases, with the first completed in September 2024 and the remainder by October 2025. The building is seven stories high and contains communal amenities such as a shared sauna, club rooms, laundry, a rooftop terrace, as well as ground-floor storage spaces. The property shares an inner courtyard and underground parking, equipped with ten electric vehicle charging stations, with neighbouring housing companies.
The loft apartments cater to urban dwellers seeking individualized living spaces near the sea. The development is situated close to the Redi shopping centre, metro connections, and various local amenities. Artus is one of several EKE Loft projects developed by EKE-Rakennus Oy, a Finnish construction company established in 1961. The area, once industrial, is being redeveloped with the goal of accommodating around 3,600 residents and building a mixed-use, sea-facing urban quarter.
