Arquitectura-G is an architectural studio based in Barcelona, founded in 2006 by Jonathan Arnabat, Jordi Ayala-Bril, Aitor Fuentes, and Igor Urdampilleta. The practice is known for its custom design approach, with a particular emphasis on renovation and transformation of historic architecture, as well as the creation of new buildings. Their portfolio includes a wide range of scales and building types, from residential homes and apartment complexes to retail spaces and furniture design.
The studio’s work has been recognized internationally, notably with the Emerging Architect Prize at the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award in 2015, awarded for their project Casa Luz. Other honors include awards from the Catalan Association of Young Architects and the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urban Planning.
Arquitectura-G’s recent and ongoing projects span locations in Spain, Portugal, Albania, France, and Japan. Current examples include the restoration of a historic house in Barcelona, a 413-unit housing complex and several residential buildings in Tirana, Albania, and retail interiors for brands such as Acne Studios in Paris and Nagoya. Their practice also extends to furniture design, such as the Masheb sofa for BD Barcelona Design, and collaborations in product design and exhibition installations.
In addition to building, Arquitectura-G is involved in teaching and curatorial activities, notably managing the architecture section of Apartamento Magazine and founding the furniture brand Indoors in 2012. Their team remains stable around the four founders and operates from Barcelona.
