Alokabide, S.A. is a public company of the Basque Government, based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. Established in 2000, Alokabide began operating in 2002, when it delivered its first 230 homes for rent and launched the Bizigune programme to bring vacant housing into use.3 Its work includes managing publicly protected rental housing, offering homes through affordable-rental programmes and administering rental assistance, including the Gaztelagun programme.6 Its remit also includes improving housing conditions and supporting habitability, sustainability and coexistence.611
Alokabide operates across the Basque Country, with public-facing offices in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Bilbao and Donostia-San Sebastián.6 Its headquarters are at Portal de Gamarra 1A, second floor, in Vitoria-Gasteiz.34 The company’s 2023 report names Iñaki Arriola López as its president and Patricia Ainhoa Val Hevia as its director general; the Basque Government’s directory lists Patricia Val Hevia as director general from June 2024.610
