AGEC (Azienda Gestione Edifici Comunali) is a special-purpose public enterprise of the City of Verona. Its history traces to the municipal public-housing enterprise established in 1910; in 1930, the enterprise took the name Azienda Gestione Edifici Comunali, which it still uses. 23 Its registered office is at Via Enrico Noris 1 in Verona, in northern Italy. 31
AGEC’s original remit was to administer and manage homes owned by the municipality. Its property portfolio now exceeds 6,500 units, including 3,990 homes, parking spaces and garages, shops, offices, storage areas and workshops. The homes include public housing, subsidised-rent housing and properties rented at market rates. 4
The enterprise also provides other municipal services: it manages city pharmacies, cemetery services and school catering, and is responsible for activities associated with the Torre dei Lamberti and the Castel San Pietro funicular. 1113 Its work is centred on Verona and the municipal assets and services entrusted to it; the available sources do not indicate a broader geographic remit. 413
AGEC is led by a board of directors and a general director. The 2024 consolidated accounts identify Anita Viviani as board chair and Marco Peretti as general director. The City of Verona’s council approved a revised statute in January 2026, clarifying the enterprise’s status as a public economic entity and strengthening the general director’s role. 12
