The 11th European Urban Resilience Forum (EURESFO) took place from 26 to 28 June 2024 in Cascais, Portugal. Organised by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability and the European Environment Agency (EEA), and co-hosted by the City of Cascais, this leading European event brought together city representatives, resilience experts, and stakeholders from across Europe to address challenges and solutions in urban resilience, disaster risk management, and climate adaptation.
The 2024 edition was structured around three main thematic streams—multilevel governance and just transition, water resilience and the Blue Economy, and transformation toward resilient and climate-neutral cities—as well as a special stream on building resilience in fragile and post-conflict settings. Interactive sessions, workshops, and study visits focused on practical solutions and promoted collaboration among participants. This forum was a central gathering during the Valencia Cities Climate Week, reinforcing its importance in the context of sustainable urban development and the European Green Capital 2024 celebrations.
