In October 2026, Southway’s board approved a merger with Wythenshawe Community Housing Group after a 10-week resident consultation. 1 The combined organisation is expected to bring together 21,000 homes and initially operate under the name Southway Wythenshawe Homes. 1 Bowker is to become its chief executive, with WCHG chair Nick Crofts becoming chair of the new entity. 1 The planned merger expands Southway’s reach while remaining focused on communities in the south of Manchester and surrounding areas. 1
