FORMA, also known as ФОРМА Architects, is an independent architectural office located at Malopidvalna Street 12/10 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Founded in 2008, the studio is led by partners Iryna Miroshnykova and Oleksii Petrov and is characterized by a research-driven approach that operates at the intersection of architecture, urbanism, and cultural programming.
The firm has established a reputation for engaging with Soviet-era heritage and executing experimental projects focused on renovation and adaptive reuse. A notable recent work is the comprehensive restoration of Pavilion 13 at Kyiv’s National Complex Expocenter, a modernist exhibition hall originally built in 1967. Under FORMA’s supervision, the building’s structure and distinctive features—such as exposed columns and a corkscrewing underground walkway—were preserved and modernized. This project, commissioned by RIBBON International, transformed Pavilion 13 into a contemporary art center, now hosting exhibitions, cultural events, and collaborations with artists and researchers. The building’s reopening in 2025, amid wartime disruptions, was hailed as a significant effort in preserving and reimagining Ukraine’s architectural legacy.
Beyond Pavilion 13, FORMA’s portfolio includes projects such as Prom.Coworking offices (2024), JOMO restaurant (2018), and the renovation strategy for the former Tetrapak factory (2018). Their activities range from urban masterplans to scenography and public installations. FORMA maintains a consistent engagement with the cultural sector, highlighting the potential of architecture to foster dialogue and adaptation in Ukraine’s changing environment.
