The Smart Country Convention 2026 is Germany’s leading event for the digital transformation of the public sector, taking place from 13–15 October 2026 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds (hub27) in Berlin, Germany. It is organised jointly by the digital association Bitkom and Messe Berlin GmbH.
Positioned as the central meeting point for digital government, smart cities and smart regions, the convention combines a high-level congress, large expo, workshops and extensive networking formats. Over three days, decision-makers from public administration, politics, the digital economy, science and civil society will discuss how to modernise administration and improve public services through digital technologies.
Key themes include digital administration and e-government, smart city and smart region solutions, data-driven decision-making, AI in the public sector, cybersecurity, and digital participation. The event features stages for keynotes and panels, hands-on best-practice sessions, experience labs, startup areas and a dedicated Smart Country Startup Award to highlight innovative GovTech and Smart City solutions.
SCCON 2026 aims to turn strategic visions for a “digital state” into practical implementation, providing a platform where technology providers, public-sector buyers and innovators can jointly develop concrete projects and partnerships.
