The Creative Bureaucracy Festival 2024 was held on June 13, 2024, at Festsaal Kreuzberg in Berlin, Germany. Organised by the Creative Bureaucracy Festival team, it brought together over 1,850 participants and featured more than 200 speakers representing nearly 40 countries. The event showcased 83 English and German language sessions, including keynotes from Germany’s Federal Minister of Justice, Marco Buschmann, and Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Hubertus Heil, focusing on the theme "Strong Bureaucracies for Strong Democracies".
The festival provided a platform for exchanging innovative ideas and practical approaches to transforming public administration, emphasising creativity, cross-sector collaboration, and building trust in government. It offered diverse formats such as panels, workshops, forums, and exhibition areas, with a strong emphasis on real-world examples of administrative innovation. Special events included the Young Bureaucrats Event, aimed at the next generation of public sector changemakers.
Participants experienced lively networking opportunities, cultural activities, and the Creative Bureaucrats Night with music and games. The day concluded with awards celebrating public sector innovation. The festival’s mission is to promote creative solutions and a forward-thinking, flexible approach within the public sector, inspiring action towards more livable, fair, and sustainable societies.
