Future phases of the complex will be financed through the national Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), with a forthcoming contract valued at 62.6 million lei for ten additional tranches, aiming to expand the development to a total of 260 apartments.

The completed blocks are three‑storey structures designed to meet modern energy‑efficiency standards. The surrounding infrastructure—paved streets, public lighting, landscaped areas and upgraded utility networks—supports low‑carbon urban living and reduces the need for private vehicle use. The project’s phased approach, integrating new construction with extensive site‑level works, reflects a sustainable model for social housing that balances affordability with environmental considerations.

The 72 apartments will be allocated to qualifying households on 1 December 2024, marking the first delivery of homes in the Grădinari social‑housing programme. The mayor, Mihai Chirica, highlighted that despite earlier setbacks, the project is now in its final metres, allowing prompt distribution to families in need. The expansion plan, once completed, will provide housing for a broader segment of the city’s lower‑income residents, contributing to social cohesion and reducing housing scarcity.
