Urban Future 2026 (UF26), Europe’s largest event for urban changemakers, will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia from March 24 to 27, 2026. Organised by Urban Future, led by CEO and Co-Founder Gerald Babel-Sutter, UF26 is expected to draw over 2,000 participants, including city leaders, architects, planners, mobility experts, and innovators. The conference aims to accelerate sustainable urban transformation, focusing on creating better, more liveable cities.
Attendees will engage in workshops, field trips, side events, and high-level discussions around core themes: city centre transformations, tactical urbanism, circularity, and an additional to-be-announced theme, with collaboration encouraged across municipalities, start-ups, NGOs, and businesses. Ljubljana was chosen as the host for its proven successes in pedestrianisation, expanding green spaces, and sustainable urban planning.
The event is designed not just as a conference but as a movement—empowering ‘CityChangers’ from all backgrounds to become active co-creators of urban life. UF26 will take place at Gospodarsko Razstavišče, Ljubljana’s main exhibition and convention centre. The programme will feature 200 speakers, 30 field trips, and numerous networking opportunities, making it a landmark occasion for city advocates and sustainability leaders across Europe.
