The Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Annual Event is the 5th Annual Conference of the EU Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities, taking place in Turin, Italy from May 27-29, 2026. The event is organized by NetZeroCities alongside the City of Turin and the European Commission.
The conference will welcome hundreds of representatives from the 112 "Mission Cities"—European cities committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2030—along with delegations from EU political and financial institutions, business communities, research organizations, and civil society. Over 800 delegates are expected to attend.
The event features high-value workshops and discussions led by city experts, interaction with senior figures from European political and financial institutions, engaging plenaries and local site visits, and significant networking opportunities to explore potential partnerships. Attendees will have the chance to connect, learn, and collaborate across sectors, bringing together city leaders, researchers, universities, policymakers, and practitioners working toward climate-neutral and smart cities.
Turin's selection as host reflects its commitment to environmental sustainability and climate action. Mayor Stefano Lo Russo emphasized that the conference represents a unique opportunity to strengthen dialogue between European cities sharing the same vision, enable concrete discussions, exchange good practices, and build strategic alliances. The city believes that only through collaboration between cities and EU support can ambitious climate goals be achieved.
