Architecture Matters 2025 is an international conference focused on the future of architecture and urban development, taking place April 2–3, 2025, at the House of Communication in Munich, Germany. The event is organised by plan A, a consultancy specialising in cities and business networks, and was founded by Nadin Heinich in 2016. This ninth edition centers on the theme "Less, but better," exploring how simplicity can be achieved in building, planning, construction, and the integration of AI.
Over two days, the conference gathers architects, urban planners, investors, policymakers, and real estate professionals for keynotes, panel discussions, workshops, and intimate Focus Sessions. Topics include reducing regulatory complexity, enabling innovative solutions to scale, sustainable construction standards, finance, radical thinking in planning processes, and harnessing AI for simplification. Special sessions address female leadership in architecture and offer speed dating to connect architects and potential clients.
The program features notable voices such as Matthias Alexander (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), David Basulto (ArchDaily), Kristiaan Borret (Brussels Bouwmeester), Regula Lüscher (Die Stadtmacherin), and others. Attendees will engage through lectures, discussion rounds, networking lunches, and collaborative workshops. Architecture Matters aims to foster candid dialogue, cross-sector inspiration, and practical solutions for a more thoughtful and sustainable built environment.
