Architecture Matters 2024 was held in Munich, Germany from May 15 to 16, bringing together professionals from architecture, real estate, urban planning, and politics to address urgent challenges facing the built environment. Organized by plan A and curated by Nadin Heinich, this eighth edition centered on the theme “Crisis vs. Crisis,” focusing discussion on the intersection and distribution of costs related to green transformation, affordable housing, climate change, and geopolitical tensions. The event featured keynote talks, interactive panel discussions, and networking sessions designed for direct exchange rather than traditional lectures. Notable speakers included Odile Decq, Anupama Kundoo, Kåre Stokholm Poulsgaard, and Elisabeth Merk. Held at the House of Communication, sessions explored capital markets, building standards, circular construction, and radical new approaches, with additional activities such as rooftop gatherings and focus groups. The conference emphasized cross-sector collaboration and the search for workable solutions in architecture and urban development. Simultaneous English translation supported international participation.
