The Built by Nature Annual Summit 2025, organized by the not-for-profit organization Built by Nature, is the leading global event focused on transforming the built environment through responsible timber construction. Established in 2021 by the Laudes Foundation and headquartered in Amsterdam, Built by Nature accelerates timber and bio-based building to decarbonize construction, which accounts for 40% of global emissions.
Held on October 15-16, 2025, at Paradise SE11—a six-storey timber office building in Lambeth, London, developed by frontrunner Bywater Properties—the summit centered on the Principles for Responsible Timber Construction. These principles, endorsed by over 260 organizations, ensure sustainable wood demand management across forest stewardship, carbon storage, and bioeconomy.
Day one featured an invite-only Biobased City Tour with site visits to London's innovative timber and hybrid buildings, plus networking drinks. Day two's conference gathered changemakers, innovators, and leaders for keynotes, case studies, and insights. Winners of the Built by Nature Prize 2025—the Global Award for Responsible Timber Construction—were announced, celebrating six projects from nearly 400 entries across 39 countries that exemplify the principles.
The event highlighted momentum in mass timber adoption, policy, supply chains, and regenerative design for climate-positive buildings.
