La Dinamo Fundació is a Barcelona-based nonprofit, established in 2016 by technical teams from the La Borda housing cooperative, with the aim of advancing cooperative housing models in Catalonia. Emerging from the social and practical lessons of La Borda—a project that developed 28 energy-efficient cooperative homes on public land in response to a severe housing crisis—La Dinamo now focuses on supporting the expansion of comparable housing cooperatives in the region.

The foundation functions as a resource and advisory centre for new cooperative housing groups, assisting with economic planning, legal structuring, and architectural development. It organizes workshops and offers one-on-one coaching to guide collectives from the formative stages through to securing land and managing construction, often navigating lengthy, uncertain processes. La Dinamo also works to build wider social acceptance for the "cession of use" model, where residents collectively lease property from the cooperative rather than owning or renting privately.

Current projects facilitated by La Dinamo include support for nascent cooperative initiatives across Catalonia and dissemination of research on public-cooperative housing strategies drawn from varied international contexts. The foundation participates in regional and international dialogues about housing affordability, regularly publishing studies and policy toolkits. Rather than simply advocating for cooperative housing in theory, La Dinamo is directly engaged in the technical, legal, and social challenges of making collective homeownership viable and scalable in Barcelona’s difficult real estate climate.
