Group Crédit Coopératif, headquartered in Nanterre, France, is a cooperative bank established in 1893. Its roots trace back to supporting worker production associations, and it has long focused on serving cooperatives, associations, mutuals, and organizations within the social and solidarity economy (SSE). The institution became Crédit Coopératif in its modern form after 1969, following a merger between key cooperative banking players.

Today, Crédit Coopératif operates as a member of the BPCE Group and is the 40th largest bank in France. As of 2024, it reported total assets of 24.7 billion euros and a net income of 30.65 million euros, employing around 1,500 staff. The bank’s clients include associations, SMEs, social enterprises, and private clients with a particular interest in the cooperative model.

Currently, Crédit Coopératif is seeking to enhance its digital offerings, illustrated by its attempt to acquire Anytime, a fintech specializing in digital financial solutions for associations. This initiative is part of its “100% committed” plan, aiming to capture over 6% of the market for newly created associations by 2030. The organisation positions itself as a reference financial partner for the SSE, balancing traditional banking services with targeted social investment initiatives.
