CoopFest is a festival dedicated to cooperative and democratic forms of economy, taking place on November 8, 2025, at the Millerntor Stadium in Hamburg, Germany. Organized by Football Cooperative St. Pauli and #GenoDigital, with support from Green Planet Energy, the event celebrates the International Year of Cooperatives and the rapid digital transformation in cooperative structures.
The festival is open to anyone interested in alternative economic systems. Over 20 cooperatives from Hamburg and across Germany will present their practical solutions to social, economic, and ecological challenges. Topics include affordable housing, customer ownership in business, revitalizing rural regions, democratic digital platforms, sustainable energy, strengthening small businesses through cooperation, employee ownership, and equal team-based entrepreneurship.
CoopFest offers a diverse program of information booths, short talks, and networking opportunities. Attendees can engage directly with cooperative members, discover ways to participate, and experience how cooperatives serve as a counterbalance to large investors while centering on democratic participation and member interests.
The event also features music and social gatherings, emphasizing community and solidarity. Under the motto "A different economy is possible," CoopFest aims to highlight how cooperatives contribute to a resilient, participatory, and people-focused society.
